Fender might be better known for their collection of iconic instruments but that doesn't mean they don't know how to construct a high-quality amplifier. Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly model that doesn't skimp on tone or a modern machine with plenty of features, Fender's combo amplifier lineup has you covered. If you're in the market for a brand new amp, why not give one of these a try?

Fender Rumble 500

Fender Rumble 500 bass combo ampIf the two goals Fender set out to achieve with the Rumble series was portability and power, they definitely succeeded with the Rumble 500. Featuring 500 watts of power, useful extras, a great range of tonal possibilities and a sound that remains clear and articulate even when pushed -- all in an amp that weighs only 36.5 lbs. It’s also a great looking amp, with a sleek, classic look, metal front panel, black textured vinyl covering with a silver grille cloth and a red LED pilot light jewel. More importantly, the Rumble 500 sounds great and packs plenty of power thanks to the pair of 10" Eminence speakers. And just in case that’s not enough, you can always connect this bad boy to an external speaker for even more power. Best of all, you get a combo bass amp worthy of the Fender legacy all for less than 600 bucks

Fender Blues Jr IV

xxbluesjrWhile it might not have as many features and settings as their pricier setups, the Blues JR IV excels at delivering what matters most – excellent tone. This updated version brings everything players loved about Jr line but adds a modified preamp circuitry, smoother-sounding spring reverb, and improved aesthetics. It's particularly well suited for players that use stompboxes to carve out their tone as the Blues Jr makes an excellent canvas for effects pedals. The EL84 tubes bring the fat mid tones while the 12AX7 tube offers lush, warm overdrive. Featuring a 15-watt power section and a 12" Celestion Type-A speaker, there’s enough power for both stage and studio use (although you can always make use of cabs with the external speaker feature).

Fender Bassbreaker 007

xx007A part of Fender’s modern Bassbreaker series of guitar amplifiers, the 007 is a powerful combo that packs plenty of punch despite its size. Featuring a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and a single EL84 tube, this 7-watt combo continues Fender’s legacy of rock-ready amps. Despite its slender price tag, the 007 looks and sounds like what an excellent tube combo amp should, boasting quality features such as traditional gain and tone controls, cabinet extension support, an onboard 1/4 inch line output and a switchable vintage-style treble booster for increased overdrive and added harmonics. Either clean or with plenty of crunch, we were easily able to crank out plenty of quality sounds during our time with the 007. And thanks to the Celestion Ten 30 speaker, tones came out rich and expressive, combining warm lows with a vocal mid-range and articulate top end. One of our favorite new amps of 2016, the Bassbreaker 007 gets our full recommendation.

Fender Super Champ X2 - $379.99

xxchampComing in below $400, the Super Champ X2 is a prime example that you don't have to break the bank to get a quality tube combo. Featuring 15 watts of rich, dual-channel tube amp tone with plenty of modern extras (including digital effects and versatile amp voicings), the Super Champ X2 is more than just an entry-level amplifier. It's simple yet flexible design allows you to easily tailor your sound exactly the way you want it. Voicings include 16 amp types including Blackface, British, Tweed, Hot Rod, Metal and more. And with the Fender FUSE software, you can connect the Super Champ X2 to your computer to custom tailor any amp voice or effect to your taste. Other features include tap tempo control for precise delay time adjustment, 1/4” line output, external speaker capability and USB output for speaker-emulated digital recording. With so many customization options and a budget-friendly price of $379.99, we can't recommend this amp enough!

Fender Mustang GT 100

The Fender Mustang GT 100 is a superb modern-day amplifier that comes packing all the bells and whistles today's players would want in a digital amp. As a stay home jam amp or practice sessions workhorse, the Mustang GT 100 will deliver in spades. You can easily lose yourself for hours messing around with all the sounds available at your fingertips, especially when using the Fender Tone app. As for small gigs or recording sessions, the amp is amazing if you're doing clean tones but I would definitely suggest bringing your favorite overdrive or distortion pedal if you plan on going heavy. All in all, you'll be hard pressed to find another amp that delivers more for the price.
