Brand Spot: One Control Pedal Switchers And Utility Boxes

But in such a crowded market, it can be easy to overlook some of the lesser known brands and the great gear they are continually releasing. This is why we like to take the time to feature manufacturers and products that we feel deserve a closer look. One such manufacturer is One Control, a company devoted to creating products that aim to give player’s complete control of their signal.
About One Control
The focus of One Control has always been to give musicians better tools that help them effectively and efficiently control their sound. With years of experience working in the effects pedal industry, One Control’s founders decided to go off on their own and create a line of high quality yet affordable products that would be better tailored to the needs of today’s musicians. Using the feedback provided by professional players and music techs, their products quickly garnered them a strong following in their native Japan. Building on their success, they decided to expand the brand’s reach beyond their shores. Today, One Control products are available around the world.
Switchers
Among all of the products created by One Control over the years, guitar pedal switchers remain their bread and butter. With a robust line of switchers that range from a single-channel true bypass loop station to a 10 channel programmable switcher with MIDI capabilities, they offer something for any type of guitarist looking for better control of their signal.

For those looking for something will all the bell and whistles, the Crocodile Tail Loop remains their flagship device. One of the most innovative pedal switchers on the market, the Crocodile Tail Loop takes pedal switchers to a whole other level. With up to 10 simultaneous loops, the ability to create up to 70 combination presets, buffered or bypassed signal throughput, MIDI capabilities, amp switching and even multi-pedal stereo output, the Crocodile Tail Loop lets you craft your signal chain exactly how you want it. Other programmable pedal switchers include the five-channel Chamaeleo Tail Loop Mark II and the three-channel Xenegama Tail Loop MKII.

With the 1 Loop, multiple effects can be routed to the effects send of an amplifier and quickly bypassed with one little click. If one loop isn’t enough, the Minimal Series Black Loop features two loop capabilities, true bypass and two DC outs to power your pedals.
Utility Boxes
Aside from switchers, One Control also offers a good variety of specialized utility boxes that can take care of various needs. Among these, the Mosquite Blender is one of their more popular offerings; a powerful little box that allows you to dial in the perfect amount of wet and dry signal from your pedalboard. Like the 1 Loop Box, this little pedal offers more capabilities than meets than eye, able to manipulate the direction of your signal path in order to control what effects you want to engage, to select specific amps or even mute your entire signal, among other uses. If you're simply looking to control the route of your signal, the Pedal Board Junction Box is an affordable and effective alternative, allowing you to keep everything on your board clean and organized.
