Gifts For Drummers Under $200
Cymbals
Cymbals are a key component of any drum kit. And unless you’re a drummer yourself, it can be difficult trying to figure out which cymbal out of the many kinds available would be the right one to get as a gift. For this, I recommend going for a starter kit as they tend to contain the three types of cymbals virtually all sets feature. Even if their own set is relatively new, having spares is never a bad idea. If you’d rather get them something they can add to their setup, I recommend you take a quick look at their kit and note what type of cymbals they use. They should have their size and type marked, such as an 18” Crash, for example. With this info, you can make sure you can buy them an entirely different cymbal that they don’t already have.

Stands
Stands/Hardware
If you decide on getting them a cymbal that they don't already own, an accompanying cymbal stand is not a bad idea either. Or maybe one or more of their old stands could use an upgrade? Not a problem. Whether they need a new stand for their snare, high-hats or cymbals, there's a lot to choose from under $200.

Drum Pedals
Drum Pedals
Pedals are responsible for the bulk of the beat and are the single most used piece of equipment in any kit. Because of this, a bad pedal can make playing a lot tougher than it should be. If you want to get them a gift that will have the single biggest impact on playability, a good drum pedal can go a long way. Axis pedals are a great choice, as they are handcrafted and feature aircraft-grade aluminum and steel, but you can't go wrong with a Drum Works kick pedal either.

Equipment Bags
Equipment Bags
If you’re not sure on what type of gear to get and would rather go for something that drummers of every style can put to good use, a high-quality gear bag from MONO is the way to go. While they might seem a little pricey, these are more than just standard equipment bags – they are fully featured, lightweight and made from military grade materials, meaning they won’t wear out anytime soon. Our on-hand drum kit expert has been using the M80 bag for his double pedal (though it can be easily converted to work with single pedals as well) and is not shy about singing its praises. Make no mistake; these are first-class equipment bags.

Drum Accessories
Drum Accessories
The key to any good instrument accessory is to make life easier for the player. With that in mind, I present to you the Cruztools Drum Multi-Tool, the Swiss Army knife of drum tools. For less than $20, this little tool packs everything a drummer would need in order to fix or service their entire kit on the fly, even pedals. And speaking of pedals, they might be strong but they're not indestructible. Why not help protect that all important piece of drum gear with an Axis Hard Shell case? It's pretty much a vault for a pedal, light enough to easily carry around but tough enough to take a drop with ease.
